Bio

To all outward appearances, James is loud, opinionated, and a touch arrogant, despite his natural humourous nature. He has been known to be rather superficial and judge others based on how they look – oh, but he only does that to Slytherins, of course. Because all Slytherins are scum.

He delights in mischief-making and sometimes pretends that school doesn’t matter. However, any slacking-off he does he makes up for in raw talent. He is actually rather intelligent academically. However, he is perhaps not so much when it comes to understanding people. To him, many things are black and white – you are smart or you are slow, you are funny or you are dull, you are “in” or you are “out”. By subjective judgement, James has discerned who is worthy of his full attention and who is not.

He has a noble streak that manifests itself in anger in the most superficial of situations, but has a deeper vein that is beginning to widen into a more mature attitude of caring about others and fighting for what is right and wrong in the world, not just on the school grounds.

Despite what others may perceive, James indeed has his own sensitive side. Although he appears not easily hurt, he can take offense to small comments and has become a little moody as of late. Although he quickly gets over most of his problems, the largest wounds one can open in James are those inflicted by those he holds in high esteem.

Above all these things, James is brave and willing to make sacrifices for those he loves. To those he loves, he is a true, honest, and loyal friend.

Being fifteen is so easy – but many things can change in so little time, and James is beginning to question not only the attitudes of others, but those he has ingrained in his own mind.

James was born in Godric’s Hollow to parents who were quite well-off and unusually old to be having children. He was also an only child, so he was a little bit pampered and generally given whatever he wanted. It is only from his experiences at Hogwarts that he has gradually been learning that he isn’t really the centre of the universe.

Upon arrival at Hogwarts, he was sorted into Gryffindor as his father and mother had also been. He struck up a friendship with the rather like-minded Sirius Black, and eventually the rather reserved Remus Lupin and the bold but awkward Peter Pettigrew.

His life at Hogwarts has consisted mostly of great marks and large amounts of detentions. His sharp mind has earned him a fine understanding of most subjects, especially Transfiguration, but his arrogance has earned him a bit of a reputation as a git in some crowds. He loathes most Slytherins, especially one Severus Snape whom he delights in tormenting – mostly for his antisocial nature but also on suspicion of involvement in the Dark Arts. If there’s one thing James can’t stand, it’s the Dark Arts.

In his third year, James joined the Quidditch team as a Chaser. He’s really good, which sadly has only worsened his ego.

James and Sirius were joined at the metaphorical hip, but James noticed that Remus was always a little distant, as if hiding something. Eventually, he and Sirius analyzed his strange behaviour and spied on their friend until they figured out that he must be a werewolf. Since then, they have been secretly plotting to become Animagi to support their friend on his lonely nights.

James has developed a rather huge crush on the beautiful and bold Lily Evans. Unfortunately, his talents at wooing the ladies are rather lacking compared to his Transfiguration skills.
